1. Information We Collect

When you use FishTourney, we collect the following information:

  • Account information: name, email address, and profile photo (provided via your sign-in provider)
  • Profile information: any additional details you add to your user profile
  • Tourney data: tourneys you create or join, including dates, locations, and settings
  • Catch records: fish species, weight, length, photos, and timestamps you submit during tourneys
  • Date of birth (optional): only requested when you register for a tournament with a Junior Division, and only used to check Junior Division eligibility. We never display your date of birth. See the section below for full details.

1a. Date of Birth Handling

FishTourney supports tournaments with Junior Divisions (an age-bracketed leaderboard for younger anglers). To determine whether you qualify, we may ask for your date of birth.

  • When we ask:only at the moment you register for a tournament that has a Junior Division. You can decline and still register — you simply won't be placed in the Junior leaderboard for that tournament.
  • Who can see it:only you, via your profile page. Site administrators may view it for support purposes (e.g. typo correction). It is never displayed to other tournament participants, organizers, or the public. Only the derived “Junior” placement is visible.
  • Locking: once you have registered for a tournament with a Junior Division, your date of birth is locked from self-edits to prevent age-cutoff gaming. To change it after that, contact support.
  • Retention: we keep your date of birth until you delete it or close your account. You can delete it from your profile at any time before the lock applies.
  • Under-13 users:FishTourney requires account holders to be at least 13. Younger anglers participate as guest team members on a parent or coach's team — no separate account is created for them.
